Usability

Food supply issues plague America! Grow your own.

I created a custom logo too.

Depending on where you live, you may or may not be able to grow your own food or raise poultry. There may be regulations that make it illegal to do so.

Many people are choosing to live off-grid as my ancestors did just 100 years ago. In rural southern states, there are fewer rules against this. Inside the city limits where we live, there are no limits on gardening or poultry.  You must still try and be a good neighbor.

Homestead Movement Site

This is a website, but it is primarily a demonstration of usability. What I mean is the onus of the project was to make it as easy as possible to negotiate. I achieved this by adapting the food pyramid into one for homesteading. It became an easy-to-use graphical representation of the basic requirements for entry into the world of homesteading.

Simple layout + simple navigation = Usability.

I caution readers to check local ordinances before getting started to avoid breaking any laws. I researched and added links to related sites on the internet. Those provide detailed instructions on advanced topics like raising chickens or collecting rainwater.

Clicking anywhere in the image above will open the site in a new tab.
