King Leopold’s Ghost is a book written by Adam Hochschild. The book is about King Leopold II of Belgium. Everyone interested in social history or colonialism should read it. My report gives an overview of the horrors he meted out on the Belgian Congo.

I point out that this king was directly or indirectly responsible for over 10,000,000 deaths in the Congo. I was nauseous more than a few times while reading. Greed is shown for what it is, an excuse for terrible deeds. Imperialism is a result of greed, and it was essential to reflect that in my writing.
