Career

For as long as I can remember I have loved reading. I went to sleep nights, more often than not, holding a book. Although spending my youth writing stories would have been grand, there were pressing issues that needed to be resolved. Like, what was I going to drive, and what would I do for a career? As a result, I purchased my first car before my 14th birthday.
I am a good workman partly because my parents raised me with a strong work ethic. I cannot remember my father ever calling in sick, and my mother cooked every meal suffering or not. I started my first real job at fourteen, at a whopping $1.65 per hour. I mowed lawns for five years to earn money. Of everyone in my immediate family, I was the first to graduate high school.

First College Graduation 6-30-92
In the five years after graduating high school, many things changed. My parents divorced, my mother died, I married and had a child. We moved to California and I enrolled in college for the first time.
As a student my strength in English shone brightly. This earned me a perfect score on the English portion of the entrance exam. I graduated with two degrees in Telecommunications and Biomedical Electronics. Taking up to 23 credits I was proud to be the first student to ever graduate in the time allotted. A company hired me before graduation, and I was the youngest person they ever employed.
I have developed the useful skill of deep learning by simply reading. This catapulted my career in the computer field. I read, studied, and learned like a madman. In short order, I earned certifications from Cisco, Microsoft, Nortel, Novell, and Mitel. I planned and recorded many networks using my writing skills in this unexpected way.

I returned to college while living in Arizona. I earned an online degree in Business Management. I knew it was time to fully embrace my skills in English and obtain a bachelor’s degree. I enrolled online at ASU in Technical Communications. Even though I live in Alabama now, I will be graduating in the fall of 2021 summa cum laude, and I am ready to share my skills with the world.
