Water

The first thing you must attend to is a clean, reliable, water source on your property. Generally, shipping in water in containers is not sufficient to support you, your family, your animals, and water for plants. You must have a well, or get connected to city water. One option is to collect rainwater. Depending on where you live this may or may not be sufficient or legal.

Rainwater will only provide supplemental water for your animals and plants. You must keep in mind that it is not legal in all places in America to collect rainwater. Some municipalities say the reason is mosquito breeding. but water has long been and can still be safely collected. But you must do your homework to know how to properly do it. Just make sure it is legal to do so where you live. Or you can get the laws changed by showing them it can be safely done.

Keep in mind that water in Oregon is owned by the state. You have to have permits to collect and store anything except rainwater or snow runoff. If you look at this article online it shows you what can happen even if you follow what you believe is a legal path.

Heat Water Without

Electricity

If the water is contaminated in any way you need to boil it. To do this you need three things. Heat, fire or electricity, a container to boil the water in, and some way to light the fire, such as matches. You also need to remember to verify you have water rights on your property. You need to check local ordinances on outdoor burning if you are creating a fire large enough to pollute or create a danger to life, or property.

If you look into and follow the icons below they will take you to instructions and information on creating natural and inexpensive ways to heat water as well as cook. Water and fire go hand and hand with potable water. Non-potable water to water gardens or animals is a different topic. There are many regulations about water and how to keep it clean and safe and not back contaminate water supplies. If you have animals please do not let them pollute streams or sources of water on your property. This is dangerous for everyone and pollution harm the environment for all life.
